Barlog Named Assistant Athletics Director for Recreation and Facilities

Alma, Mich. - Bradley Barlog has been hired as Alma College's Assistant Athletics Director for Recreation and Facilities, as announced by Director of Athletics Sarah Dehring on Wednesday (Apr. 1).

"I'm very excited to announce the hiring of Bradley Barlog," said Dehring. "Brad has a positive energy about him and he will be able to connect to students, staff, and the Alma community in a genuine way."

"I would like to thank President Abernathy, our Athletic Director Sarah Dehring, the search committee, and the whole athletic office for this amazing opportunity. I am ready to hit the ground running and help build a culture of excellence while continuing to demonstrate sportsmanship, unity, passion, and determination within our athletic department and campus as a whole. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and finally getting to be a part of this family here at Alma College. Go Scots!"

Barlog attended Central Michigan where he was the recipient of the Leadership Advancement Scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services and most recently spent a year working as a graduate assistant at CMU's University Recreation where he was responsible for the operations and oversight of the facility. He also served as the point of contact for facility rentals and special event logistics, as well as a member of the events management team during football games. Previously, Barlog had served in many other capacities as an undergraduate, including program coordinator, student manager and official.

Barlog previously interned in the office of Recreational Services at the University of Toledo from August 2017 to May 2018. There, Barlog was responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of student workers at Toledo's recreation, fitness, and education centers, as well as the scheduling of events at each of those venues. He was also responsible for all aspects of daily operations within the rec center including office processes, memberships, Fusion software, equipment upkeep, facility maintenance, risk management, and facility management.
