Women's Lacrosse Starts Season with Win

The Alma College Women's Lacrosse team opened its season with a road victory over the Mount St. Joseph University Lions on Saturday (Feb. 20) by a final score of 17-11. Emma Keith scored five goals while freshman Sam Peterson scored four goals in her collegiate debut. Allie Ray made 10 saves in net.

STUNT Falls to Davenport in OT, Beats Olivet

The Alma College STUNT team kicked off its season with a pair of home games on Sunday (Feb. 21) at Art Smith Arena. The Scots fell in the first game, 15-14, in overtime against the Davenport University Panthers. Alma then responded by earning its first win of the year with 19-0 victory over the Olivet College Comets.

Women's Basketball Goes 1-1 on the Week

The Alma College women's basketball team started its week off on Wednesday at No. 1 ranked Hope College. The Scots lost 98-62 as Morgan Hanchett tallied a team-high 13 points. The Scots then earned their first conference victory of the season on Saturday with an 82-41 win over Kalamazoo College on Saturday. 12 separate players scored for the Scots with Taylor Sas leading the way with 13. 

Bowling Has Solid Weekend at Hoosier Classic

The Alma College bowling team competed at the Hoosier Classic this weekend at Indianapolis' Expo Bowl. On Saturday, Alma finished 16th out of 31 teams in a 25-game baker tournament while on Sunday the Scots placed seventh out of 31 teams in a five-game team tournament. Rachel Kuczajda placed eighth on the individual leaderboard for Sunday's tournament. 

Men's Lacrosse Held Down by Benedictine 

The Alma College men's lacrosse team dropped one to Benedictine University on Friday by a score of 15-9 at the Canlan Sportsplex. Connor AlleyEzra Leppanen, and Anar Tumurbaatar each had three-point games with two goals and one assist a piece.

Men's Basketball Falters Against Hope and Kalamazoo

The Alma College men's basketball team lost, 101-83, to the Hope College Flying Dutchmen at Art Smith Arena on Wednesday. Cole Kleiver led the Scots with 22 points while nailing four 3-point attempts. Isaiah Williamson was Alma's next highest scorer with 17 on 8-of-13 shooting. Then on Saturday, the Scots fell to Kalamazoo College, 76-67, on the road. Brandon Rake put out a solid performance with 16 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Nate Deyman led the Scots with 17 points off the bench, the sophomore hit five 3-pointers in the game.
