Daytona Beach - The Alma College cheer team finished the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) All-Girl Cheer Division III Championship in second place on Friday (April 5).
The Scots finished with a score of 95.71, less than one and a half points behind Bridgewater State University for first place. Alma won last year's championship by defeating Bridgewater State by less than half a point.
Alma's cheer team had won the previous two All-Girl Cheer Division III Championships. It hasn't finished outside the top two in its last six appearances; the team has only been in existence for seven years.
The Scots have some time off before competing at the STUNT National Championships on Friday, May 3 at the University of Oklahoma.
