Grand Rapids, Mich. - Freshman Ryan Stevens (Lowell, Mich./Lowell) scored with 4.3 seconds to play in regulation to give the Alma College men's basketball team a 68-66 victory on Wednesday (Feb. 8) over Calvin College at Calvin's Van Noord Arena.
Stevens, who had 10 points in the game, lifted the Scots (11-11 overall, 7-4 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association) to victory after being down by as many as 13 points in the second half. Senior Trevor Gernaat (McBain, Mich./Northern Michigan Christian/Mid-Michigan CC) netted 14 points and scored 11 in the final stanza, adding a trio of three-pointers as Alma shot 50 percent from behind the arc in the second half.
