Forest Hills, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team played in the fourth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree on Monday (Oct 1) afternoon at the Watermark Country Club. The Scots, currently sitting in seventh place overall in the conference, took eighth place with their score of 326. Hope College won the Jamboree, shooting a 285.
Leading for the team in today's contest was senior Kyle Bodkins (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills Central), who shot a season-low 78 (+7) and tied for 28th place overall. Sophomore Tait Morrissey (Canadian Lakes, Mich. / Big Rapids) tied for 33rd place with a score of 79 (+8), and freshman Eli Pinter (Muskegon, Mich. / Reeths-Puffer) shot an 82 (+11). Rounding out the day for the Scots were senior Bennett Schmitt (Frankfort, Mich. / Frankfort) and junior Luke Lamoreaux (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights Stevenson), who had scores of 87 (+16) and 103 (+32), respectively.
The Scots will wrap up fall season competition on October 12 and 13 at the MIAA Fall Finale. Tee time at the L. E. Kaufman Golf Course in Wyoming is at 12 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
