West Olive, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team opened up conference play on Monday (Sept. 9) with the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree of the season. The event was hosted by Hope College at the Wuskowhan Players Club. The Scots finished tied for 7th place as a team with a team score of 334, tying with Olivet College. Trine University won the event with a team score of 296, while host Hope College was second with 306.
Individually the Scots were led by sophomore Eli Pinter (Muskegon, Mich. Reeths-Puffer), who had a score of 80 and finished in a tie for 19th place. Finishing right behind Pinter was freshman Andrew Curran (Byron Center, Mich. Jenison) with a score of 81 and tying for 21st place. Senior Tait Morrissey (Big Rapids, Mich. / Big Rapids) finished one back of Curran with a score of 82.
The Scots will be back in action Friday (Sept. 13) at the Irish Hills Invitational hosted by Adrian College. The two day tournament will begin at 11:00 am from The Grande Golf Club in Jackson, Mich.
