Alma, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team hosted the second MIAA Jamboree of the fall season on Saturday (Sept. 21) from the Pine River Country Club. The Scots finished in seventh place as a team overall with a combined score of 324, one stroke behind Kalamazoo. Trine University (Ind.) won the event with a score of 291; the Thunder continue to lead the MIAA through two conference tournaments.
The Scots were led by freshman Andrew Curran (Byron Center, Mich. Jenison) with a score of 78 (+6). Behind him was senior Tait Morrissey (Big Rapids, Mich. / Big Rapids) with a score of 79 (+7). Finishing third for the Scots was sophomore JP McDonald (Jackson, Mich. Hillsdale) who shot an 83 (+11). Sophomore Eli Pinter (Muskegon, Mich. Reeths Puffer) finished right behind McDonald with a score of 84 (+12). Rounding out the scoring for the Scots was freshman Trent Lashuay (St. Johns, Mich. / St. Johns) with a 92 (+20).
Up next for the Scots is the third MIAA Jamboree of the season hosted by Adrian College at the Lenawee Golf Club. The jamboree will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday (Sept. 28).
