Ada, Ohio - The Alma College men's lacrosse team dropped an 18-9 decision to Ohio Northern University on Saturday (Feb. 22).
Connor Alley (Powell, Ohio / Worthington Kilbourne) led the Scots with four goals on seven shots to go along with two assists. He also picked up a team-high three ground balls.
Chase Hunyadi (Pepper Pike, Ohio / University School), Trevor Bailey (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. / Sault Area / Olivet College), Ezra Leppanen (Dewitt, Mich. / Lansing Catholic), Byron Weber (Westfield, Mich. / Westfield) and Tommy Quinlan (Orland Park, Ill. / Carl J. Sandberg) scored the other goals for the Scots. Hunyadi also added two assists to his point total. Hank Wickley (Petaluma, Calif. / Casa Grande) made 15 saves in net.
The Polar Bears (3-0) scored the game's first four goals. Alma responded with the next two goals – from Bailey and Hunyadi – to cut ONU's lead in half after one quarter.
Alley and Leppanen got on the board in the second quarter with the senior assisting on the freshman's goal late in the half.
Alley scored again in the third, followed by Weber's second goal of the season. Alley found the back of the net twice more in the fourth quarter while Quinlan joined him in the goal column for the first time this season.
Alma will travel to Concordia University of Chicago on Thursday (Feb. 27). The game against the Cougars will start at 2:00 p.m.
