Grand Rapids - The Alma College track and field team competed at the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge on Friday (Feb. 14).
Hengesbach also finished fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 13.47 meters.
Stephanie Davis (Elmira, Mich. / Gaylord) won the women's 600-meter dash with a time of 1:50.60. Madeline McDonnell (Grosse Pointe, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) finished fifth in 2:15.44.
Jacob Wildenhaus (Jackson, Mich / Lumen Christi) finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.58. Vernonell Smith finished fifth in 9.15 seconds.
The duo also finished seventh and ninth in the 200 dash with Wildenhaus coming in at 24.53 and Smith finishing in 24.97.
Grace Hearth (Freeland, Mich. / Valley Lutheran) came in third in the women's triple jump with a distance of 9.75 meters.
Jack Montgomery (Mikado, Mich / Oscoda Area) finished third in the men's 3000 with a time of 9:14.38.
Elizabeth Gotaas (Alma, Mich. / Alma) and Haley Chene (Farmington Hills, Mich. / Farmington Hills Harrison) came in fourth and fifth in the women's 1000. Gotaas finished in 3:41.83 and Chene came in at 4:14.46.
Gotaas came in behind her sister, Cornelia, in the one-mile run. Cornelia finished in 5:52.38 and Elizabeth 6:08.24. Makenzie Jonas had a time of 6:29.49, while McDonnell finished in 6:44.17 and Chene came in at 6:51.06.
Tyler Story finished sixth in the 400 dash with a time of 58.17.
Timmy Carlington (Cadillac, Mich. / Cadillac Senior) and Cliff Maginity (Boyne City, Mich. / Boyne City) finished neck-and-neck in the men's one-mile run, separated by just over half a second. Carlington posted a time of 4:50.13 and Maginity came in at 4:50.68.
Alma returns to action on Friday (Feb. 21) in the Grand Valley State University Tune-Up. The meet begins at 2:45 p.m.
