Adrian, Mich. - The Alma College indoor track and field team competed in the MIAA Indoor Field Day on Saturday (Jan. 29).
Bailey Hoffman (Olivet, Mich. / Olivet) finished third in the women's weight throw with a distance of 14.95 meters on her last throw. Hengesbach finished seventh with a distance of 13.50 meters.
Hoffman also finished seventh in the shot put, behind Charley Hengesbach (Saginaw, Mich. / Nouvel Catholic Central) who finished fourth. Hengesbach threw for 12.12 meters; Hoffman came in at 11.47 meters. Sophie Patrick also threw 11.47 meters but came in just behind Hoffman in the seeding. Mariah Dunkin just missed the finals at 11.26 meters.
Jacob Wildenhaus (Jackson, Mich. / Lumen Christi) finished third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.58. Vernonell Smith (Muskegon, Mich. / North Muskegon) finished fourth with a time of 8.99, improving three spots from the preliminaries.
Nolan Rowland (Battle Creek, Mich. / Richland-Gull Lake) finished fifth in the pole vault, jumping a height of 3.95 meters.
Timmy Carlington (Cadillac, Mich. / Cadillac Senior), Wildenahus, Tyler Story and Spencer Davis finished the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:44.93. Nathan Elston () filled in for Wildenhaus in the distance medley relay and the Scots finished in 12:01.03.
Cornelia Gotaas (Alma, Mich. / Alma), Haley Trickey (Millington, Mich. / Millington), Grace Hearth (Freeland, Mich. / Valley Lutheran) and Stephanie Davis (Elmira, Mich. / Gaylord) finished the women's 4x400 meter relay in 4:31.81. Gotaas, Trickey, Elizabeth Gotaas and Aubrey Hemstreet (Portage, Mich. / Portage Central) ran the distance medley in 13:55.94.
The women's team finished sixth; the men finished seventh.
