Women’s Bowling Takes First in Buckeye Baker Classic

Columbus, Ohio - Alma College women's bowling took first this weekend (Jan. 11 and Jan. 12) in the Buckeye Baker Classic.

How It Happened

  • Alma finished second out of 13 teams in the initial qualifying round, scoring 6325 total points and earning the second seed in the Tournament Bracket.
  • Alma defeated Walsh University in the first round in a best-of-three series (198-145, 159-174, 208-147).
  • Following Walsh, Alma competed against St. Vincent and won in two games: 210-157 and 222-184.
  • The Scots won the tournament against Northern Kentucky in two: 178-125 and 203-164 with an average of 196 points per game.

The Alma College Women's bowling team will be competing in the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic in Addison, Ill. on Saturday (Jan. 18) and Sunday (Jan. 19).
