INDIANAPOLIS – The Alma College bowling team competed at the Hoosier Classic this weekend at Indianapolis' Expo Bowl. On Saturday, Alma finished 16th out of 31 teams in a 25-game baker tournament while on Sunday the Scots placed seventh out of 31 teams in a five-game team tournament.
In Saturday's tournament, Aaliyah Wilson, Brooke Fornetti, Emily Zalenko, Kasidey Easlick, Kemmie Shunk, Rachel Kuczajda, and Sarah Gadde teamed up together to bowl a total score of 4,206 with an average of 168.24 per game. Their highest game was a 218. The Alma College junior varsity team bowled a total of 3,762 over the 25 games.
On Sunday, the Scots posted a total score 4,549. In game four of the day, the Scots bowled a 963, which was the highest score by any team at the tournament for the fourth game.
Kuczajda was the top bowler for the Scots on Sunday, averaging 194.4, to finish in a tie for eighth place on the individual leaderboard. The junior earned an impressive 240 in the fourth game for her high game on the day
Shunk finished in the top 20, averaging a 191.6 per game. The junior's high game was a 203.
Easlick had a solid day, averaging 185 per game. The senior posted a 231 in one of her games.
The Alma College junior varsity team bowled a total score of 3,695 on Sunday.
The Scots return to conference competition when they head to Fort Wayne on Saturday, February 27th for an American Heartland Tournament.
