Adrian, Mich. - Tori Basso (Lake Orion, Mich. / Lake Orion) of the Alma College women's golf team finished the Adrian College Spring Invite as the runner up with a score of +9 (80) on Thursday (April 18).
As the only Scot competing in the event, Basso came up two strokes behind the leader, Dakota Spears of Siena Heights, at the Lenawee Country Club. Her 80 score is also two strokes off her career-best, set at the first MIAA Jamboree in the 2018-19 Fall season at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich.
"Tori was stellar in her final college match," said Interim Head Coach Charlie Goffnett. "Despite Tori's short game being a little rusty due to her competing in lacrosse this spring and limited practice due to poor weather, her driver was incredible; long and splitting the fairway all day. In the classroom and on the course, Tori epitomized hard work, focus, and determination."
Basso earned the honor of First-Team All-MIAA in the fall season. In doing so, she became the first Alma College golfer since Courtney Reinhardt in 2004 to receive the honor.
