Alma, Mich. - Allie Ray (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y. / Comsewogue) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.
Ray allowed two goals on 13 shots in an 8-2 win over Concordia University of Chicago on Sunday (March 25). Two goals are the fewest she has allowed all season and her save percentage of 84.6 percent is also a season and career best.
Ray has had at least 10 saves in each of her five appearances this season. She currently leads the conference in save percentage (58.1) and is second in saves (75).
