Freeland, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced on Tuesday (Nov. 5) that Sara Majerle (Rockford, Mich. / Rockford), Georgia Miller (Georgetown, Ky. / Scott County) and Haley Novak (Midland, Mich. / Bullock Creek) have all been named to the All-MIAA Teams. Majerle was named to the First Team while Miller and Novak earned spots on the Second Team.
This is the second time Majerle has been named as a First-Team All-Conference player. The sophomore outside hitter finished the regular season with the second-most overall kills (461) in the league as well as the third-most kills per set (4.15). She also has 51 service aces this year, the third-most in the league. Not just an offensive player, Majerle has contributed on the defensive side with 31 blocks and a team-high 396 digs. She is second in the MIAA in total points earned (530.5).
Miller finds herself on an All-Conference team for the first time in her four-year career. Miller finished the year with the second-most kills on the team (284) and the third-most digs (367). She stands as the ninth highest scorer in the conference with 331.5 points on the year. She also has 33 assists, 27 aces, and 39 blocks to her name.
Novak gets a spot on the Second Team for the first time; she made it to the First Team in 2018 as a sophomore. Novak finished with the second-most assists in the MIAA (993), averaging nearly nine per set, also second-best in the league. When she wasn't setting up the offense, Novak pitched in on defense with 261 digs (2.35 per set) and 52 blocks. She also had 97 kills, most of which were setter dumps.
