Alma, Mich. - Senior Kaitlyn Arnold (Jackson, Mich./Northwest) has been named the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, it was announced today (Monday, Oct. 10) by the league office.
Arnold received the honor for the second time this season, and third time in her career, after winning the Lansing Invitational 5K on Friday (Oct. 7). Arnold posted a time of 18:15.13, over 30 seconds better than the next finisher, and improved upon her time and finish from the same event a year ago.
The women's cross country team finished fourth at the Lansing Invitational, with a pair of runners among the top 10 finishers.
Arnold has won three of her four races this season and has finished at least second in every competition this season.
The Scots have the weekend off before participating in the MIAA Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29. The event will be held at the Tomac Woods Golf Course in Albion, Mich.
