Alma, Mich.- The Alma College women's soccer team fell to the Kalamazoo College Hornets in an MIAA battle on Friday (Mar. 26). With the loss, Alma's record drops to 0-3.
The Hornets earned two first half goals thanks to Destiny Garcia and Savera Rajendra-Nicolucci. Garcia sent a shot past senior goalkeeper Ally Wentworth in the 22nd minute to put the Hornets up 1-0. Ten minutes later Rajendra-Nicolucci sent a shot past Wentworth to make it 2-0.
Kalamazoo would add one more goal to the scoreboard in the second half. Joy Hunziker would make it 3-0 and that ended up being the final goal of the game.
Reigning MIAA Defensive Player of The Week Wentworth made eight saves for Alma. Lily Stephan led the Scots with two shots, one being on goal.
Alma will travel to Albion College on Monday (Mar. 29). The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
